Community Reference Groups
City of Newcastle (CN) is committed to genuine engagement with the community on issues affecting the city and issues that impact the community.
Community References Groups (CRGs) are an important part of CN’s community engagement framework. As part of our commitment to involving the community in CN decision making, we establish reference groups for specific projects to help gain information from, and share information with, the community.
CRGs are an effective way to involve key stakeholders and the community in specific projects or activities. They provide opportunities to align our service delivery and operations with the needs and expectations of our community.
Our CRGs broadly aim to:
- Provide a forum for members to discuss issues of community interest
- Draw on local knowledge and enhance community voice in decision-making processes and outcomes
- Build community understanding of CN core business functions and specific projects and activities.
How can I get involved?
Expressions of Interest (EOI) to join a CRG for a given project or activity will be notified via this page. To stay up-to-date with opportunities, join our community panel.
