Youth Week is on again from 16 - 24 April 2021!
Join us as we celebrate NSW Youth Week, the largest celebration for everyone aged between 12 to 24 years in NSW! This year Newcastle is hosting multiple great events so make sure you get along to one or more of our city's offerings!
National Youth Week celebrates young people and their contribution to their local communities. It is now the largest annual youth participation event in Australia. Youth Week is a week to celebrate young people and provide them with opportunities to express their views and act on issues that affect their lives. JNC Art Express

Join in the celebrations as this year Harmony Day and Youth Week come together for a colourful celebration of diversity and community! Young people will be creating a collaborative mural with local artists UP&UP which will be displayed in the foyer of the community centre.

Tiddas in Muloobinba - Performance Showcase

Experience the culmination of a 3 day intensive workshop as young First Nations women present their very own unique musical performance. Working with Yolngu musical dynamos The Illume Girls, these young people have spent 3 days crafting a unique musical performance for your listening pleasure. Following the performance, there will be an opportunity to meet & greet the performers and hear about their journey to the stage.

Local street art legends UP&UP are taking their unique brand of placemaking and street-art activism into local high schools this year, running workshops with students about the history of street art & activism in Newcastle.

Youth Week Out West

Get on down to Wallsend Skate Park for an afternoon of awesome tunes, free BBQ, games and more!
Featuring a skate demo from the crew at Laate, followed by a free-skate so bring your wheels! We’ll be giving props to the best riders, and may even hand out some prizes on the day!
