Development Application Notices

In accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and/or City of Newcastle's (CN) Community Participation Plan the below proposed development applications fall into one or more of the following categories and therefore are notified for community awareness.

  • Designated development;
  • Nominated integrated development;
  • Threatened species development;
  • Class 1 aquaculture development;
  • Potentially hazardous or potentially offensive development; or
  • Demolition in Heritage Conservation Area.

Adoption of Amendments to Newcastle DCP 2012

Current Notices

The following amended sections of Newcastle DCP 2012 were adopted by Council at the Ordinary Council meeting of 27 October 2020 and comes into effect on 2 November 2020:

Section 3.12 Sex Industry Establishments
Section 4.02 Bush Fire Protection
Section 7.03 Traffic, Parking and Access
Section 7.08 Waste Management
Section 9.00 Glossary

The amendments were made as part of an administrative review of the Newcastle DCP 2012 with the aim of updating outdated references and addressing minor issues related to ambiguity in clauses or misalignment with City of Newcastle policy or industry standards.

Approval of Contributions Plan by Council

Current Notices – under Part 4 Division 3 of the EP&A Regulation 2000

Council adopted an update to the Section 7.12 Local Infrastructure Contributions Plan 2019 on 8 December 2020. The update focused on aligning short-term projects within the current works schedule with Councils adopted budget for this financial year (20/21) to prioritise spending of Section 7.12 funds.
